A glimpse into
My musical journey
Yomi Santiago’s musical journey began in her childhood within the church in the United States. Born in Puerto Rico to devoted Christian parents, she was raised in an environment steeped in congregational worship and quickly discovered music as a profound means of expressing her faith. At the age of 13, she began singing officially in the worship ministry and has never considered another path since. “I knew I was born to worship God through music,” she affirms.
Over the years, Yomi established herself as a dedicated worship leader, serving for decades alongside her father, Pastor Alfonso Santiago. Her ministry flourished within the church, with a repertoire tailored to both English- and Spanish-speaking congregations. However, a new chapter unfolded when her pastor, Bishop Clint Brown, appointed her and her husband, Everson Lage, to serve in the leadership at the newly formed Brazilian ministry, Mais De Cristo Judah Church.

It was within this context that Yomi had her first close experience with the Brazilian community. With the support of Pastor Fabrício Ferreira, who appointed her as the worship leader, Yomi began translating songs from English and Spanish to Portuguese. Dedicated and eager to grow, she immersed herself in the language and further deepened her theological foundation by enrolling at ITEPA Bible College, where she studied under the guidance of Pastor Adson Belo. Alongside Pastor Alba Belo, this pastoral couple played a key role in opening the first doors for Yomi’s ministry in Brazil during the 2022 FEMME Women’s Conference at Igreja Cidade IMAFE.
Since then, Yomi has been invited to minister in Brazilian churches across the United States and abroad. Her connection with Portuguese-speaking audiences has grown naturally, driven by her sincerity, authenticity, and desire to share God’s love across cultures. “I fell in love with the Brazilian people! They are joyful and deeply sensitive to the move of the Holy Spirit,” she shares.
Yomi Santiago has released two singles in Portuguese. The first, Tudo Entregarei (“I Surrender All”), marks a new phase in her ministry. The second, A Honra / All Honor, features Dr. Ron Kenoly—one of the most prominent Christian artists in the world and a significant inspiration for Yomi throughout her ministry.
